Mooncakes.

Ever since I met Cyndy 5 years ago, we have become nothing but the closest of friends and almost every year since then she gives meyummy mooncakes which she makes with her grandmother.

Mooncake is basically a Chinese Pastry that is traditionally made and eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Mooncakes normally consists of a thick filling that is usually made from lotus seed paste with the occasionally salted egg yolk in the middle of the pastry and is surrounded by a relatively thin crust. Compared to most cakes or pastries, mooncakes are rich, heavy and dense. Personally I like to enjoy them in small wedges accompanied with a cup of tea :)
